"I teach in a way that promotes learning through direct interaction with music. I urge my students to use critical thinking, active listening, and creativity while acquiring new skills on the instrument.  By setting up students with a strong technical and theoretical foundation, they are able to better navigate songs in any given style while developing their unique musical voice. Some of the areas of focus in my classes are ear training, sight-reading, music theory, and repertoire preparation."
